Music is Art
CEO/musician/producer/songwriter and Philadelphia native, Bennie Pearce, grew up in North Philadelphia, surrounded by an abundance of diverse musical samplings. His wide range of influences span across the music era spectrum, but mainly of the 60s, 70s and 80s, ranging from jazz, blues and soul to acoustic music, fusing his musical influences to the likes of Nat King Cole, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, The Carpenters, The Sound of Philadelphia, Weather Report, Earth, Wind & Fire, Babyface and so many others. The instrument of choice to channel Bennie’s musical calling was the bass guitar, which he began playing professionally at the age of 15. Two years later, he landed a permanent gig as the bassist for a local venue house band.
Immediately after high school graduation, Bennie joined the U.S. Navy. While completing many tours of duty around the world, he remained an active band member with various bands. During this time Bennie began experimenting with his hidden passion of songwriting and production. After 24 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Navy, Bennie retired and began playing with local bands in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2018, Bennie was selected to perform at the Exit Zero Jazz Festival in Cape May, NJ with the R&B band, Real Thyme and shared this event with “smooth jazz with a touch of cool jazz” trumpeter and headliner Chris Botti.
In 2010, Bennie founded Phillie-BOP Productions, a music production company that will make good on its promise to return to the future of “classic” music, serving as the premier destination for “The Future Home of Classic Music.” Bennie is a member of the American Society of Composers and Publishers (ASCAP) and he is an established independent publisher under Phillie-BOP Music. He is also member of the Songwriters Association of Washington DC (SAW), and a member of Songpreneurs which is a songwriter and entrepreneur’s platform located in Nashville, TN.
In 2020, Phillie-BOP Productions launched its first international release with the debut hit single, “Worthy,” by singer/songwriter/independent recording artist, Rina Chanel on January 16. The single has earned the No. #1 chart position on several music charts, Spotify playlists and platforms. “Worthy” continues to receive international rotation in the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Japan, Brazil; and Arizona, California, Ohio and Pennsylvania in the United States. The highly successful release led to Bennie’s nomination for the “Songwriter of the Year Award” hosted by the 2020 Star Soul Fame Honors and presented by the RNB SoulEffect TV platform.
